PROCEDURE CHECKLIST
PRE-PROCEDURE CHECKLIST:
FOR OPTIMAL RESULTS, PLEASE SET A REMINDER TO COME BACK HERE TO READ OVER THE RECOMMENDED INFORMATION IN THE FOOTER OF THIS WEBSITE ON HOW TO BEST PLAN FOR A PROCEDURE.
BY BOOKING A PROCEDURE AT PERMETIKA, IT MEANS . . .
-
THAT YOU AGREE WITH US THAT OUR CONSERVATIVE APPROACH IS THE BEST APPROACH (FOR YOU) IF YOU WANT A NATURAL LOOK!
-
YOU UNDERSTAND THAT ARTISTRY IS ONLY HALF THE BATTLE... CLIENTS MUST ALSO TAKE PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR TAKING PROPER CARE BOTH BEFORE AND FOLLOWING ANY PROCEDURE. So be sure to read this entire page to learn what to do and what to avoid regarding your particular procedure.
-
YOU UNDERSTAND THAT SPECIFIC RESULTS CANNOT BE GUARANTEED BECAUSE EVERY PERSON IS DIFFERENT - INTERALLY AND EXTERNALLY - and things change over time because we are dealing with a BIOLOGICAL SYSTEM (your skin) that is affected by everything you do OR consume. (Lifestyle, Sun, No Sun, Diet, Medications... etc.) LIFESTYLE DIFFERENCES: SOME PEOPLE SPEND A LOT OF TIME IN THE SUN, WHILE OTHERS RARELY SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY. SOME ARE IN GREAT HEALTH, AND HEAL FAST WITH EXCELLENT RESULTS, WHILE OTHERS TAKE MORE TIME TO HEAL. ALL OF THESE FACTORS, (AND MORE) PLAY A ROLE IN YOUR HEALING AND WE CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR HOW EACH PERSON'S FINAL RESULTS TURN OUT.
-
YOU UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL BE GIVEN MULTIPLE OPPORTUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE PROCEDURE TO CHECK AND DOUBLE CHECK SHAPE AND COLOR FOR ACCURACY ACCORDING TO YOUR OWN PREFERENCES... THIS IS THE TIME TO SPEAK UP - SO PLEASE FEEL FREE TO DO SO! WE DO NOT MIND. . . THIS IS YOUR FACE!
-
YOU UNDERSTAND THAT OUR CONSERVATIVE APPROACH may require MULTIPLE FOLLOW-UP SESSIONS because there is no way to predetermine, what the outcome will be for each person.
-
Please understand (in advance) that Multiple sessions may be necessary for those who do not hold much color. This protective measure will help us reach a target goal, without going overboard.
-
FOLLOW UP SESSIONS ARE NOT FREE
Follow up sessions cost us just as much as the initial session. There is usually not much difference in time because we are not just filling in a few tiny empty spots. We are now applying the next layer of pigment to add extra dimension for an even more realistic look. As far as overhead, & cost of materials... that is exactly the same.
You will find that once your follow up session heals, it will normally provide an even more amazing result than the initial procedure.
ON THAT NOTE . . . Each client has a different opinion on what feels complete. Some are happy with a little, others are never happy at all. Also, one client may take much better care while others are out jogging or even IN THE POOL two days after the procedure. FACT! I've caught several in my lifetime thanks to FACEBOOK! Ha! (Don't send a Friend Request to your permanent makeup artist if your not going to follow the rules then complain about fading or color malfunctions!)
After your INITIAL SESSION & TWO FOLLOWUP SESSIONS
(which is standard with my approach) you still do not feel that you have held enough color, and you truly feel that you didn't get your money's worth, please send us some pictures and let's discuss what options we can explore to make you HAPPY! The last thing we want is for someone to feel that. We know it's a big investment... and you should be thrilled (yet still have realistic expectations! Try to remember all the challenges we face by tattooing YOUR FACE. If the color is too light, we can always add more. We do not want to risk making you look like you just jumped off of the crazy train!
FUTURE MAINTENANCE
Getting permanent makeup is a little bit like buying a car. You would not expect to keep that car in top condition if you refused to change the oil, buy new tires, and paint it again when it fades... same here! Permanent makeup is only called permanent, since it doesn't wash off. But it does certainly fade over time!
FOLLOWUP LOOP HOLE. . .
HOW TO GET 2 YEARS - OUT OF 1 ANNUAL FOLLOWUP!
Simple... just wait a year from your last session to book, to get on the calendar - AND JUST DON'T SCHEDULE IT RIGHT AWAY.
So, if after a year, you think the color is still good, and you're not ready for more , we will allow you to extend the time by booking out - UP TO ONE MORE YEAR. That actually gives you two years!
YOU'RE WELCOME! (Your reward for reading all of this info!)
However, IF YOU WAIT LONGER THAN A YEAR TO GET ON THE BOOKS, the procedure will default to the next level . . . which is a COLOR BOOST. The level after that is called a START OVER and is billed at the going rate of a new procedure (less 20% off).
-
FOLLOWUP SESSIONS BECOME NECESSARY WHEN:
-
PIGMENT COLOR SHIFTS: This takes a different timeline for every client. And SOME clients never experience this shift - but at some point, the color no longer look natural. This is just nature. I apply a lot of corrective color to HELP prevent this from happening, but it still can happen. Just know that IF the pigment starts looking "suspicious" (gray, red, blue, orange or any other non appealing color, its just time for an adjustment.
- THE AGING PROCESS OCCURS: Now this rarely happens with younger clients... unless they have OVERLY ACTIVE muscles in the forehead. And aging doesn't create a noticeable problem overnight, but one day you may look up and notice that your brows suddenly seem uneven... That may take 6 month, or it may take years. But the older we are, the faster things change. This is an unfortunate, yet real problem for some. If you find that one brow suddenly looks higher than the other, you might want to also look at the wrinkles and furrows above and around your brows as a clue to find out where these pesky changes are coming from! NOTE: The same muscles that allow us raise our brows to SEE BETTER, to show emotion, etc... are also responsible for brows that change in shape over time.
- BOTOX & FILLER can also help correct this issue OR may even exacerbate it, depending on the provider! Over time, the skin stops returning to its natural state, and wrinkles form. So, consider this too if you were once happy with your brow shape, but now you're not... Blame the muscles, not the artist. . I assure you - the pigment didn't just pick up and move. SINCE THIS IS NOT SOMETHING THAT CAN BE PREVENTED, AND WAS NOT CAUSED BY THE ARTIST - YOU WILL JUST NEED TO EITHER GET INJECTIBLES TO HELP CORRECT WHAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM, OR COME IN FOR ANOTHER FOLLOWUP SESSION
-
-
YOU KNOW THAT A 50% (NON-REFUNDABLE) BOOKING FEE is required to reserve your spot on our calendar. However, the balance is not due until the day of the procedure. MORE VALUABLE INFORMATION. . .
ALLERGY SKIN TESTING:
-
If you want an allergy skin test, you must schedule it a minimum of 3-5 days prior to your appointment to allow time for any potential reaction to occur. This step may help circumvent a potential allergic reaction, but is not a guarantee that a future reaction will not occur.
-
Permetika has been in business since 2002... In all this time, not one client has ever presented an allergic reaction - and we know that documented cases of allergic reactions, are extremely rare, but that doesn't mean it isn't possible.
-
So if you have very sensitive skin or suffer from allergic skin reactions, we welcome you to schedule a complimentary test.
-
IMPORTANT: Afternoon Appointments may run late. We do respect your time and we know it's frustrating to have to wait. However, we cannot fully anticipate, nor guarantee, when the procedure prior to yours will be finished. Just know that we will give you the same attention that you also deserve when it's your time in the chair.
HAVE YOU SUFFERED FROM ANY OF THE FOLLOWING HEALTH ISSUES? If so, we need your doctor's clearance (permission) to perform a procedure:
-
SHINGLES
-
STAPH INFECTION
-
SEPSIS
-
DIABETES
We will need a Doctor's clearance in advance of treatment stating that you are able to have your requested procedure. IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER HEALTH ISSUES AT ALL, PLEASE DISCUSS THEM WITH YOUR DOCTOR AND PLEASE BRING THEM UP FOR DISCUSSION PRIOR TO YOUR PROCEDURE.
Good general health, proper nutrition, and a good attitude... are ALL integral parts of the healing process. Swelling, edema, bruising, discoloration, scar formation, redness, and the time you take to heal – all are influenced by your diet, especially in the weeks prior to and just following your procedure.
ON APPOINTMENT DAY
IF YOU ARE SICK . . .RUNNING A FEVER, AN ACTIVE SKIN OUTBREAK NEAR THE AREA TO BE TREATED, OR EVEN HAVE THE SNIFFLES - PLEASE STAY HOME. WE CANNOT AFFORD TO GET SICK (IF WE CAN PREVENT IT!) SO PLEASE CALL US AS SOON AS YOU KNOW YOU CAN'T MAKE IT AND WE WILL RESET YOUR APPOINTMENT TO A BETTER DATE.
DO YOU HAVE ANY ARTIFICIAL JOINTS?
You know if PRE-MEDICATION is required prior to other medical or dental procedures. If that is the case, you should also consult with your physician to ask if pre-medication prior to permanent makeup (Tattooing) is required as well! Then plan to have your medication ready to go on the day of your procedure.
Frequently Asked Questions . . .
IF AFTER READING THROUGH THE FAQ TOPICS, YOU STILL HAVE QUESTIONS. . . PLEASE LET US KNOW AND WE WILL REACH BACK OUT AS SOON AS WE CAN.
-
Good health, proper daily nutrition, and a good mental attitude all factor into creating the best possible scenario for OPTIMAL RESULTS! Each of these trigger points is heavily influenced by your diet, smoking, and supplements - especially in the weeks just prior to and following your procedure. Poor health and a bad diet can directly affect the amount of edema (swelling) bruising, discoloration, scar formation, redness, and length of healing time.
PLEASE HELP US KEEP THINGS LOW STRESS:
-
DO NOT SCHEDULE IMPORTANT EVENTS BEFORE OR AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT TODAY. SOMETIMES IT'S UNAVOIDABLE THAT WE RUN LATE AND DON'T WANT ANYONE STRESSING OVER THINGS.
-
Most clients are cool calm and collected. If however, you show up with a lot of anxiety it only prolongs the event. Take a few deep breaths and realize that you are in good hands!
-
The first appointment of the day starts at 10:00 am. There is a 30-minute window in which to complete paperwork and ask any final questions as we start the numbing process.
-
Your arrival time is not your START time. Your specialist will start your first procedure approximately 30-45 minutes later to allow for sufficient numbing and set up of work area.
-
Remember, after cleansing your face - DO NOT USE any Moisturizer on the forehead or temples.
-
You may wear makeup, but you may also come with a clean face too if you choose to.
-
Wear comfortable clothes. Bring a sweater. It can get cold in the office building.
ABOUT BROW PROCEDURES
-
Generally produce minimal pain to no pain.
-
After the first session, the color will be too light.
-
Once healed, we will know more about how YOUR skin reacts to the treatment and can make adjustments at the follow-up session.
-
This is for your protection. Please embrace it!
ABOUT EYELINER PROCEDURES
-
LASH EXTENSIONS:
-
REMOVE LASH EXTENSION at least 3 days prior to eyeliner procedures. If you fail to do this, we will have to reset your appointment and you will have to pay a new booking fee.
-
-
REMOVE CONTACT LENSES prior to your appointment.
-
Bring a contact lens case with saline and do not reapply your lenses for about 48 hours after an eye procedure.
-
Bring prescription glasses with you to the session. You will need to wear them home after any eyeliner procedure.
-
Eyeliner normally causes more mental anxiety than true "pain". The tickling is far more annoying than "painful".
-
For that reason, you may want to consider taking Antihistamines such as Benadryl before the procedure as it may reduce swelling and help you relax.
-
You may also ask your physician to prescribe Xanax - but you must arrange for transportation. If we feel that your judgment, balance, or speech is compromised in any way, we will cease the treatment and you will have to reschedule your appointment. The fees will be forfeited.
-
Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is normally sufficient to control any discomfort or occasional pain due to the procedures.
-
Do not dye or perm eyelashes for 7 days prior to the appointment - refrain for another month following an eyeliner procedure.
-
Do not use an eyelash curler for about 2 weeks after an eyeliner procedure.
-
Eye surgeries??? Be sure to consult with the physician about how long you should wait before having a permanent eyeliner procedure.
ABOUT LIP PROCEDURES
-
If you have ever had (even one) fever blister or cold sore, you should consult your physician a few weeks in advance and get a prescription for an antiviral medication to start taking a few days before, during, and for a few days following your lip procedure. If you fail to do this, you risk an outbreak, which will most likely remove most or all your implanted color!
-
Lips are the most sensitive of all procedures, pain-wise. We stay ahead of the pain as much as possible by applying more numbing cream as needed. Most people are able to tolerate the initial pain. I assure you, I will give you a break as soon as you tell me to and will apply a more numbing gel to help alleviate the pain.
-
Following the procedure, lips will sting a bit and feel sunburned for 12-24 hours.
-
Then feel super chapped for the duration of the initial healing process.
-
Once they peel, they will feel really tender, like baby skin.
-
Continue to keep moisturized.
-
LIPS ALMOST ALWAYS TAKE 2-3+ SESSIONS FOR COMPLETE COLOR. This is a highly active area and the color is easily lost on some people.
-
Darker Lip Color could take 4-5 sessions, or more.
FOLLOW-UP APPOINTMENTS:
-
FOLLOW-UP WORK IS NOT FREE. PRICES CAN BE FOUND ON OUR MENU PAGE.
-
DO NOT START PERMANENT MAKEUP UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING AND ABLE TO CONTINUE WITH MAINTENANCE. ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE SUPER HIGH EXPECTATIONS! It is not realistic to never maintain your house or car, nor it is realistic to think that you're not going to need maintenance on your facial tattoos as well.
-
MULTIPLE FOLLOW-UPS MAY BE NECESSARY OR YOU ONLY MAY NEED ONE. EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT.
-
Schedule Follow-ups at twelve (12 ) week intervals, following the date of your initial procedure. This keeps the application dates on track.
-
2-3 Weeks prior to your follow-up, check your permanent makeup. If you feel that everything is ok, and you'd rather wait a while, (or if something else comes up) you may postpone your appointment.
-
Changes to your appointment date MUST be done at least one (1) week prior to your appointment date. If you need to postpone, just search your emails for "Permetika" to find your most recent confirmation email. You will find a link there to reset your appointment.
-
To make a change within a week, you will need to reach out to us to make that change. Penalty may apply on a case by case basis.
PHOTOS
-
Mandatory Before and After photos will be taken for your client file.
-
Your consent form will give you the opportunity to accept or decline the use of your photos on our website, in marketing & training material.
-
We can make your photos "private" but YOU must request that we make your photos CONFIDENTIAL.
SANITATION, STERILIZATION & SAFETY
-
From the moment we start, you will observe our strict attention to sanitation guidelines throughout the duration of your service. ONLY DISPOSABLE PRODUCTS ARE USED FOR YOUR PROCEDURE. ALL NEEDLES ARE PRE-STERILIZED, ONE-TIME USE FOR YOUR HEALTH AND WELL-BEING!
-
After each procedure, surfaces are wiped down with virucidal/germicidal agents and draped with plastic barriers. Disposable gloves are worn and changed any time we need to leave our work area or handle a device or product that's not on the work tray. Following each procedure, disposable parts are inserted into properly labeled containers for proper disposal. All waste material is wrapped up in plastic and properly disposed of.
Pain, Anxiety & Medications
Pain thresholds are totally different from client to client. Some feel more than others, but the sensation ranges from a plucking feeling, vibration, scratching, but it's rarely unbearable. We prep our client's brows with topical numbing cream throughout the entire process to dull the discomfort. If you have low pain tolerance, it's best if you apply numbing cream for 30-60 minutes beforehand.
-
BY TEXAS STATE LAW, a cosmetic tattoo studio is only allowed to administer Lidocaine at 4% or less without a Medical Director, however, stronger topical applications may be available to you over the counter or online.
-
You may also ask your physician to prescribe a stronger topical that you can apply prior to your procedure.
-
DO NOT RISK APPLYING TO EYELIDS! If the numbing cream reaches the eyes it will burn and could cause a corneal abrasion if it is not flushed properly and immediately.
-
NEVER take sleeping pills prior to your procedure! They will NOT help you "relax"! While you might become sleepy, you could also become combative... and start swatting me away from your face in your sleep. Trust me on this. It happened! In the best interest of the client, I actually had to terminate the procedure and drive her home. TRUE STORY!
-
IF YOU TAKE MEDICATION FOR ANXIETY THAT RELAXES YOU OR MAKES YOU SLEEPY, YOU MUST BRING SOMEONE WITH YOU TO DRIVE YOU HOME -OR- ARRANGE FOR TRANSPORTATION HOME.
-
Sleeping pills are not pain killers! Do not take them prior to your procedure.
-
IF AFTER READING THROUGH THE TOPICS, YOU HAVE QUESTIONS THAT YOU COULD NOT FIND AN ANSWER TO, PLEASE REACH OUT TO US BY LEAVING US A MESSAGE ON THE 24/7 MESSAGE CENTER AND WE WILL CONTACT YOU BACK AS SOON AS WE CAN.
NOTE: IF YOU HAVE ALREADY BOOKED YOUR PROCEDURE . . .
Please be sure to return to this page to submit your CLIENT DATA, MEDICAL HISTORY AND HEALTH DECLARATION prior to the day of your appointment.

So for your convenience, we have provided links (in the footer section below) of THE MOST IMPORTANT information.
When reviewing the information, take notes on topics that affect you. You may also want to set a reminder on your phone or calendar as you go so you don't forget important tips.
ABOUT BOOKING YOUR APPOINTMENT:
We do respect your time and we know it's frustrating to have to wait. So if your schedule normally runs tight, you should definitely book your procedure as the FIRST procedure of the day so can wrap up your appointment on time. Afternoon Appointments may run late.
Please DO NOT schedule a tattoo on your FACE on any day when you have other time sensitive or important events! Don't book your appointment at 1:00 if you have to pick up your kids at 3:00Please Appointments starting at noon or later may be held up due to a variety of reasons beyond our control. Some cases are more difficult and time-consuming than others. So while we cannot fully anticipate, nor guarantee, when the procedure prior to yours will be finished, as there are numerous things to consider, Just know that we will give you the same attention that you deserve.
Please educate yourself PRIOR to your appointment.
There are many pros & cons of having any cosmetic procedure, and we are committed to providing as much information as we can to help you become the most informed consumer possible.
WHAT TO AVOID BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT:
-
Eliminate cigarette smoking and second-hand smoke completely before and after your procedure. Cigarette smoke (including secondhand smoke) affects your lungs, heart, blood vessels, and the way in which wounds heal. It changes the way topical anesthetics work and can have a profound impact on your results.
-
Do not use any other herbs or supplements prior to your procedure. While some herbs and supplements can contribute to a healthier, longer life, new evidence shows that their benefits are derived mainly by functioning as blood thinners. However, using a blood thinner prior to your procedure may complicate the application process since it may cause you to bleed more which, prolongs healing.
-
You should also eliminate alcohol and drugs such as steroids, marijuana, cocaine, and amphetamines.
-
It is imperative that you do not take any non-prescription dietary supplement, vitamin, or herbal or homeopathic medicine for at least two weeks prior to your treatment.
-
Stop taking all aspirin and blood-thinning supplements and vitamins.
-
Stop all anti-inflammatory drugs such as Ibuprofen, Motrin, Aleve, and any medications that contain aspirin.
-
Stop taking Vitamin E, except what is included in your multivitamin.
-
Stop smoking and avoid all secondhand smoke. Either form of smoke can delay the healing of wounds.
-
Maintain a healthy diet.
-
Limit excessive use of alcoholic beverages, as they can thin the blood and cause bleeding.
-
Start your supplements and vitamins as recommended.
-
Follow the pre-procedure diet outlined above.
-
Fill any necessary prescriptions. (ie: antiviral meds for lip procedure,
-
SMOKING
-
Eliminate cigarette smoking completely before and after your procedure. Cigarette smoke (including secondhand smoke) affects your lungs, heart, blood vessels, and the way in which wounds heal. It changes the way topical anesthetics work and can have a profound impact on your results.
-
Do not use any other herbs or supplements prior to your procedure. While some herbs and supplements can contribute to a healthier, longer life, new evidence proves that their benefits are derived mainly by functioning as blood thinners. However, for our application, using blood thinners prior to your procedure may complicate the application process as well as prolong healing. With this in mind, you should also eliminate alcohol and drugs such as steroids, marijuana, cocaine, and amphetamines.

-
SUPPLEMENTS

THREE WEEKS PRIOR TO PROCEDURE:
START GETTING YOUR BODY INTO GOOD SHAPE.

Eat five times a day: Three meals and two snacks.
-
Eat more fruits and vegetables.
-
Eat less pasta, bread, grains, and cereals.
-
Eat a healthy breakfast.
-
Have a small snack a half hour before exercising.
-
Have a small snack before bedtime.
TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO THE PROCEDURE
The following recommendations may only make a marginal difference in your outcome, but every little bit helps!
-
START TAKING: ARNICA MONTANA (pills, not cream)
Arnica Montana helps to prepare the skin by reducing bleeding, swelling & bruising and also helps to speed healing. If you are allergic to Arnica Montana, or unable to take it for any reason, you may start eating pineapple every day and take Bromelain to help speed healing.
-
Get proper nutrition and rest.
-
PRESCRIPTIONS REQUIRED PRIOR TO PROCEDURES. DO NOT STOP TAKING ANY PRESCRIPTIONS WITHOUT YOUR DOCTOR'S RECOMMENDATION!
-
ANTIBIOTICS: Are required if you've had any joint replacements.
-
ANTI-VIRAL MEDICATION: THIS is needed for ANY LIP PROCEDURE if you get fever blisters or cold sores.
-
DIETARY ROUTINE:
-
Drink plenty of water every day. (Our bodies are 70% water, and all of that water needs to be continuously replaced.)
-
Drink eight ounces of water 30 minutes before each meal.
-
Eat five times a day: three meals and two snacks.

Eat more fruits and vegetables and less pasta, bread, grains, and cereals.
-
Eat a healthy breakfast.
-
Have a small snack a half hour before exercising.
-
Have a small snack before bedtime.
-
Maintain a healthy diet. and eat a surplus of Green Leafy Vegetables.
-
ONE WEEK PRIOR TO THE PROCEDURE
-
Start taking Arnica Montana and/or start eating a lot of fresh Pineapple, which will help promote faster healing with less bruising. You can order Arnica Montana on Amazon, buy it at Whole Foods Market or most any Nutrition or Vitamin Store.
-
Get enough proper nutrition and rest.
-
Do not stay up late or work long hours.
-
Stop using anti-aging products such as Obagi, and Retin-A, or any other acid or mechanical exfoliators on the area to be treated.
-
LIP PROCEDURES: If you've ever had a cold sore, (even 1) you'll need to start on an antiviral medication to reduce the chances of a breakout during healing.
-
EYELINER PROCEDURES: Remove Lash Extensions at least 3-5 days prior to an EYELINER procedure.
3 DAYS PRIOR TO THE APPOINTMENT:
STOP TAKING (but NEVER discontinue PRESCRIBED medication without first consulting your physician). OTC products that should be eliminated prior to any invasive procedure are as follows:
- All Blood Thinners... Again, never discontinue any prescriptions w/o asking your doc!
-
Alcohol - It thins the blood, and causes more bleeding.
-
Caffeine - It increases the heart rate, causing more bleeding.
-
Aspirin or any Aspirin based products, including Baby Aspirin
-
Ibuprofen
-
Motrin
-
Advil
-
Aleve
-
Naproxen
-
Fish
-
Fish Oils
-
Green Tea Extract, Garlic, Ginkgo Biloba as well as Cayenne Pepper supplements.
-
Vitamin E (Internal Capsules and External topicals as well.)
-
stop ANY facial oils. EXCESSIVE CREAMS AND OILS PLUMP UP THE SKIN making it difficult to implant pigment and also can cause less color retention.
-
Use cleansers only.
-
Stop exercising.
-
Remember, if you are having eyeliner, be sure to remove any lash extensions at least 3 days prior to the procedure.
-
Remember, if you are having a LIP procedure, be sure to start taking your anti-viral medication NOW!
-
-
2 DAYS PRIOR TO THE APPOINTMENT:
-
REDUCE VIGOROUS EXCERCISE: Exercise increases the heart rate, expands pores, and produces sweat. This can cause a loss of color retention. So FOR the BEST RESULTS, please avoid any exercise within 1-2 days prior to your procedure and for a minimum of 7 day and up to 14 days following your procedure, for OPTIMAL RESULTS. If you must exercise, (and I know some of you WILL), do so sparingly.
-
If you must exercise, you must also be willing to accept the fact that your color may fade and additional follow-up sessions may become necessary.
Cleanse skin as normal for a few days prior to the procedure
-
However, stop using all oils or skin creams in the area to be treated to reduce the amount of oil in the skin. The DRIER the skin, the BETTER THE COLOR RETENTION!
THE DAY BEFORE YOUR PROCEDURE
-
Refrain from consuming alcohol or caffeine.
-
NO EXERCIZE: (see above).
-
Remember: When cleansing your face only, use cleanser only, rinse and pat dry - DO NOT use Moisturizer on areas to be treated.
-
Remember to keep taking Arnica Montana & Pineapple.
-
GET PLENTY OF REST.
THE DAY OF YOUR PROCEDURE
-
IF YOU ARE SICK or RUNNING A FEVER - PLEASE STAY HOME. WE WILL RESET YOUR APPT.
-
IF YOU HAVE ANY ACTIVE SKIN OUTBREAKS NEAR THE AREA TO BE TREATED, WE MUST RESET YOUR APPOINTMENT.
-
Shower in the morning and wash and condition and style your hair as normal.
-
Remember, cleanse your face only - use no Moisturizer on the forehead or temples.
-
You may wear makeup, but we prefer you come with a clean face.
-
Wear comfortable clothes.
-
If you are having eyeliner, Do not wear contact lenses today. Bring your glasses instead and be sure to bring sunglasses.
-
Take any necessary prescriptions.
-
DON'T BE SCARED! This is your day to be happy, have fun, and get treated like the Queen that you are!
START OF ACTUAL PROCEDURE:
-
Take any required prescriptions just before the procedure starts.
-
IF YOU HAVEN'T STARTED TAKING ARNICA MONTANA &/OR RECOMMENDED SUPPLEMENTS, start now.
-
-
During the numbing process, just relax. Being nervous (is expected) but a real waste of energy, because you're about to be amazed!
-
Once the procedure is started, additional topical (as needed) will be applied to help control discomfort.
-
Almost every client agrees that the procedures are much more tolerable than originally anticipated.
-
Having realistic expectations ALSO applies to your appointment time! Creating a "PERMANENT MARK" on someone's face is a complex and personal thing that cannot be rushed. Some people require more time and focus than others... this is just the way it is. Just know that we are committed to providing THE BEST POSSIBLE EXPERIENCE for everyone.
-
If you have to wait, we ask for your patience while we take good care of the client in the chair.
-
Avoid a TIME CRISIS on your end, by allowing a 3-4 hour window of time to complete your appointment.
-
Do not plan anything right after your appointment just in case we are running behind.
-
Make a backup plan in case you have lunch or dinner plans.
-
Have someone scheduled as a backup to pick up your kids.
-
Don't plan any first dates, a speaking engagement, or a walk on the red carpet on the day of your procedure. You have some healing to do!
ABOUT APPOINTMENT DAY . . .
-
Sessions are by appointment only. So please do not arrive early.
-
Check in & numbing time has been built into your allotted appointment time.
-
Afternoon appointments may run late. So please be patient and wait for your turn in the chair and we will be as devoted to you as we were the client before you.
-
If you have a tight schedule and need to leave ON TIME, it's best to book your appointment starting at 10:00 am.
-
REMEMBER - NO CAFFEINE TODAY. NO HEAVY EXERCISE.
-
You may take TYLENOL before and after the procedure to help minimize pain. DO NOT TAKE IBUPROFEN OR ALEVE.
-
DO NOT SCHEDULE IMPORTANT APPOINTMENTS TODAY. SOMETIMES WE RUN LATE AND DON'T WANT ANYONE STRESSING OVER THINGS.
LASTLY, THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST!
Again, relax! DON'T BE NERVOUS! This is your day to be happy, have fun, and come get treated like the Queen that you are! You're in good hands! WE LOOK FORWARD TO HELPING YOU! Thank you for taking the time to educate yourself and for your interest in Permetika!

Not everything will be pertinent to you. So as you read, jot down some notes that pertain to you... then just before and after your procedure, you will need to stop/start consuming certain products.
For example: We have a page called PRE PROCEDURE TIPS to assist you in timing your procedure.
Proper AFTERCARE is also important.
-
Buy a travel pillow to sleep with.
-
Don't schedule anything important on the day of your procedure.
-
Plan for a relaxing few days with no IMPORTANT EVENTS following your procedure. Of course general outings, work, lunch or dinner with friends is typically ok (unless you don't want anyone to notice a thing) because Days 2-3 may appear red and inflamed surrounding the treated area.
-
For 1-2 weeks, strenuous activities are restricted. Nothing should cause you to sweat... because sweat contains salt & salt reduces pigment retention.
-
After all, you are considering a decision that WILL impact your appearance for a very long time.
Those are just a few important tips to help make sure you protect your investment.
We hope to see you soon and THANK YOU FOR TAKING TIME TO LEARN.
Now just relax and take a look around. If you like what you see, click the BOOK NOW BUTTON and take the plunge!
We think you'll be so happy!

PERMANENT MAKEUP IS NOT A HAIRCUT!
REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS are paramount!
PERFECTION does not exist!
ARTISTIC TALENT is subject to interpretation!
-
While we strive for perfection, all cosmetic procedures come with inherent risks for many reasons listed here on this site. If you do not take the time to read the links in the footer section below, you could have certain expectations that cannot be met. OR you may have fears that are not true. So please take some time to research!
-
Your skin is a biological system - NOT an inanimate canvas. It is designed to rid itself of foreign matter, which includes pigment. Yes, we put that foreign matter into your skin in the form of "art" - hoping all of it will stay. But your body doesn't know that we want it there, so it's going to do its job - and try to take the color out.
-
This means your healed results after the first visit, MAY end up TOO LIGHT, BLURRED & COLORS MAY SHIFT a little. This is why we opt for a layering approach, applying a second NEW LAYER OF ART 8-12 WEEKS LATER (just where needed). Then on subsequent follow-up sessions, when necessary.
-
This gradual application will help move you closer to beautiful, natural-looking work at a safer pace than overdoing it upfront. Our conservative approach rarely leads to the color being too dark and you'll NEVER end up with SUPERHERO BROWS here at Permetika!
-
Now there is also a chance that your color could end up being close to perfect... We just never know! But you can know that you're one of the lucky few!
PRIOR TO YOUR PROCEDURE, PLEASE HELP TO PREPARE:
The following bullets will help in planning your procedure: Just know, that we want the BEST outcome for you, which makes everything better for us as well! So the more you know, the better prepared you'll be to understand our process.
CONSULTATIONS:
- CONSULTATIONS ARE NOT MANDATORY. But you can learn a lot by joining us for a consultation meeting. We offer Group meetings and private meetings as well.
- FOR BROWS, EYELINER, AND LIP PROCEDURES, I'm confident that any questions you may have can be answered here on this site by reading the suggested links, including our VIRTUAL CHAT feature as well as our FAQ page. The main reason you might need to meet in advance is to get an allergy test if you have very sensitive skin.
-
If you want an allergy skin test, you must schedule it a minimum of 3-5 days prior to your appointment to allow time for any potential reaction to occur. This step may help circumvent a potential allergic reaction, but is not a guarantee that a future reaction will not occur. In all the years that we've been in business, we have not had one client present a problem. However, we know it's possible since there are documented cases of allergic reactions, they are just extremely rare.
-
If you have very sensitive skin or suffer from allergic skin reactions to other products, we encourage you to schedule a complimentary test. Better safe, than sorry!
If you have very sensitive skin, we encourage you to schedule a consultation prior to your appointment.
ARNICA MONTANA
-
Arnica Montana (pill form, not cream) helps prepare the skin for less bruising, less swelling, less bleeding, and it helps speed healing. It really works! It should be taken (as directed on the bottle) during the two weeks prior to your procedure. Continue taking for an additional week or two following your procedure. Arnica Montana is available on Amazon, at Whole Foods Market, and most nutrition stores. 30 c is a good strength.
BOOKING FEES & POLICIES
-
Booking fees are required to reserve your place on our calendar. The fee is 50% OF the COST OF PROCEDURE. The remaining balance is not due until the day of your appointment. BOOKING FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE, however, if you have an emergency and cannot show up, please call us and we will do our best to get you set up on a better day.
NOTICE OF CANCELLATION:
(See Policies & Forms Page) The amount of time required to change your appointment date is based on the idea that we want to give your fill-in client as much time to prepare as you had. Please remember, that no one else can book your spot and if you cancel, we can't easily fill it because other clients need that time to prepare. So we rely on your commitment to keeping things flowing smoothly. If you cancel at the last minute, we have no way of filling your spot or making up for lost revenue. So we split the loss 50/50 in the form of a forfeited booking fee.
NO-SHOW APPOINTMENTS:
(See Policies & Forms Page) No Shows will forfeit their booking fee. To rebook, you will need to schedule a new visit with a new booking fee.
REGARDING OUR PRICES
Prices are subject to change with or without notice.
REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS:
OPTIMAL RESULTS MAY TAKE A DIFFERENT AMOUT OF TIME FOR EACH CLIENT DUE TO THE ENORMOUS DIFFERENCES IN CLIENT BIOLOGY AND PERSONAL HABITS. SOME TREATMENTS JUST TAKE BETTER ON SOME CLIENTS, AS WELL AS CERTAIN BODY PARTS MAY TAKE (THE SAME PROCEDURE) BETTER IN SOME AREAS, THAN IN OTHERS.
You should understand that pigment IN the skin, looks different than makeup ON the skin. We do our best to make it look as natural as possible and build toward your desired results. This requires a conservative start, (to protect those who hold more pigment than others. This means that MOST of you will most likely need multiple procedures.
We hope this (and other) understanding will help to foster a great relationship where we can build on future ideas together.
In order to gain a specific understanding of your procedure, you should (at least) read the pages outlined on this page. Keep in mind throughout the learning process that while we do have a great track record, YOUR comprehension and
cooperation also plays a large role in your overall happiness.
REGARDING EYELINER PROCEDURES:
-
Don't wear contact lenses to your session.
-
Remove Lash Extension at least 3-5 days prior to having eyeliner done to avoid extreme sensitivity to the area.
REGARDING LIP PROCEDURES:
-
If you are prone to fever blisters, START TAKING YOUR ANTI-VIRAL MEDICATION PRIOR TO YOUR APPOINTMENT as directed by your physician.
REGARDING OLD/BAD PERMANENT MAKEUP:
You may or may not be a candidate. Please schedule a consultation in advance to allow us to evaluate the color and condition of the skin.
