PERMETIKA AFTERCARE

ARNICA

ARNICA MONTANA

The following recommendations are just that... recommendations.

The supplements and steps below are not mandatory for a procedure - nor do they guarantee a perfect outcome. However, we do feel that they may help to improve your results. Whether you follow all, part or none of these recommendations is entirely up to you and your doctor.  Personally, I do believe Arnica is amazing. I can almost always tell if a client took this supplement as soon as I start working on the skin.

Purchase from Amazon, Whole Foods Market, or any Nutrition Store.
  • Arnica Montana  (30c tablets. Not cream!)

  • Vitamin C  (Take 500 mg once or twice a day).

  • Bromelain (Take 500 mg - two times on the day before your procedure)

  • Pineapple

  • Bromelain

  • Leafy Green Vegetables

Because homeopathic medicines are not as strong when the concentration of the active ingredient is lower, 6X, 12X, and 30X medicines are considered relatively low potency. Those labeled 30C or 200C are considered high potency.

Arnica Montana  (pills, not cream)

Arnica Montana is derived from a flower called a mountain daisy. It is a homeopathic remedy for bruising and trauma. Homeopathic arnica may also be helpful for injury, swelling, shock, and severe insect stings. Taking arnica before and after treatment here, or surgery or dental procedure elsewhere may prove to minimize pain, swelling, and bruising.

There are a variety of DOSAGES:

The most common being 30c tablets.

There are multiple strengths of Arnica Montana (pills). You may purchase the one that you and your doctor or nutritionst feel would be best for you. Take all supplements as directed on the bottle. You should purchase 30c tablets. Obtaining the correct dosage is important as it reflects the dilution. A 30x dosage is much more concentrated.  Take as directed on the bottle for a week following your procedure.

Start taking 1-14 days prior to your procedure and continue taking for a couple of weeks while healing. Arnica Montana really helps to speed healing and reduce bruising, inflammation & swelling. Some people take a double dose of Arnica Montana (30c dosage) the night before their procedure.  Arnica Montana is available on Amazon, Whole Foods Market, or Nutrition stores.

  • Be sure not to touch the pills.
  • Twist the pills from the blue bottle into the cap. Drop them under your tongue and let them dissolve. Do this about 15 minutes to 30 minutes before eating.

  • UNDERGOING MEDICAL CARE?
    •  PLEASE GET PERMISSION FROM YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE BOOKING A TREATMENT WITH US.

    • SOME PEOPLE ARE ALLERGIC TO ARNICA MONTANA. If you don't feel right after taking a dose, please discontinue use.

  • Vitamin C
    • (Take 500 mg once or twice a day).

Vitamin C promotes healing and is a free-radical scavenger. Look for Vitamin C that is time-release and pure (that is, not mixed with any bioflavonoid or anything else).

  • Bromelain
    • (Take 500 mg - two times on the day before your procedure) Continue for five more days after treatment. This pineapple enzyme decreases bruising.

  • Start consuming:
    • Pineapple, Bromelain, and Leafy Green Vegetables instead of Arnica Montana, especially if you are allergic to Arnica Montana.

MORE GREAT TIPS!

(This is a recap from a previous page.)

Good general health, proper nutrition, and a good attitude... are ALL integral parts of the healing process. Swelling, edema, bruising, discoloration, scar formation, redness, and the time you take to heal – all are influenced by your diet and, especially in the weeks prior to and just following your procedure.

WHAT TO START CONSUMING:
  • Drink plenty of water every day. (Our bodies are 70% water, and all of that water needs to be continuously replaced.)

  • Drink eight ounces of water 30 minutes before each meal.

  • Eat five times a day: three meals and two snacks.

  • Eat more fruits and vegetables and less pasta, bread, grains, and cereals.

  • Eat a healthy breakfast.

  • Have a small snack a half hour before exercising.

  • Have a small snack before bedtime.

WHAT TO AVOID:

Eliminate cigarette smoking and second-hand smoke completely before and after your procedure. Cigarette smoke (including secondhand smoke) affects your lungs, heart, blood vessels, and the way in which wounds heal. It changes the way topical anesthetics work during surgery and can have a profound impact on your results.

  • Do not use any other herbs or supplements prior to your procedure.

  • While some herbs and supplements can contribute to a healthier, longer life, new evidence proves that their benefits are derived mainly by functioning as blood thinners.  However, using a blood thinner prior to your procedure may complicate the application process as well as prolong healing. With this in mind, you should also eliminate alcohol and drugs such as steroids, marijuana, cocaine, and amphetamines.

  • It is imperative that you do not take any non-prescription dietary supplement, vitamin, or herbal or homeopathic medicine for at least two weeks prior to your treatment.

PRE-PROCEDURE CHECKLIST:

THREE WEEKS PRIOR TO PROCEDURE, BE SURE TO READ THE PLAN AHEAD,  PRE/POST CARE PAGES. and please be sure to read OUR POLICIES PAGE.

  • ALLERGY SKIN TESTING:

If you want an allergy skin test, you must schedule it a minimum of 3-5 days prior to your appointment to allow time for any potential reaction to occur. This step may help circumvent a potential allergic reaction, but is not a guarantee that a future reaction will not occur.  In all the years that we've been in business, we have not had one client present a problem. However, we know it's possible since there are documented cases of allergic reactions, they are just extremely rare. If you have very sensitive skin or suffer from allergic skin reactions, we welcome you to schedule a complimentary test.

  • IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER HEALTH ISSUES AT ALL, PLEASE DISCUSS WITH YOUR DOCTOR AND PLEASE BRING THEM UP FOR DISCUSSION PRIOR TO YOUR PROCEDURE.

  • IF YOU HAVE EVER HAD A STAPH INFECTION OR SEPSIS, WE NEED TO KNOW IN ADVANCE.

  • Stop taking Vitamin E, except what is included in your multivitamin.

  • Stop smoking and avoid all secondhand smoke. Either form of smoke can prolong the healing of wounds.

❌  What to Do, Stop or Remove

Please note the following recommendations that apply - prior to any cosmetic tattooing session.

  • ALL PROCEDURES:  Start taking ARNICA MONTANA before your procedure to help reduce the effects of possible bruising, swelling, bleeding or inflammation which ALL make procedures more difficult to perform and reduce optimal results. Best to start a week or more before any cosmetic procedure but super helpful to continue taking during the healing phase.

  • BROWS and EYELINER:  Discontinue use of any growth serums for at least a month prior to session.

  • EYES: REMOVE LASH EXTENSIONS at least 3-4 days prior to your procedure. This helps to minimize any extra sensitivity during the treatment. Rubbing the delicate skin of the eyelids can cause micro abrasions, which may lead to increased discomfort. Ensure to follow this guideline for a more pleasant experience.

  • EYES: REMOVE CONTACT LENSES. Bring your glasses to the appointment so you can see to drive home. For best results, do not reapply lenses until fully healed.

  • LIPS: COLD SORES or FEVER BLISTERS may break out if you don't prepare in advance! Ask your doctor for a prescription for an anti-viral medication to help minimize the risk. Take prior to, during and following your lip procedure. Taking 1,000 mg of Lysine per day also helps, but for best results, ask your doctor.

Ever had a cold sore?

You’ll need a prescription antiviral. Start meds before and after your appointment.

📸 TEXT PHOTOS TO 713-340-4422

If you have existing permanent makeup or hyperpigmentation concerns, please send photos for evaluation.

Beautiful permanent cosmetics should look natural, not tattooed.

Especially when it comes to eyebrows as they are the most important feature on the face. They instantly set the tone of  the face and bring an immediate, positive (or negative) impact to any face.  Poorly shaped or colored brow can wreck even the most beautiful of features.

Almost everyone wants NATURAL looking brows... but some don't realize that "perfect" brows do not look NATURAL. The empty spaces that seem too apparent in a 10x Magnification mirror, look NORMAL at a distance. Not every empty space should be filled in.  When done properly, this negative space is what makes the brows look believable, not stamped on!  You just have to resist the urge to fill every open spot! On the other hand, those open spots should not create an obvious gap either. Brows should flow like a soft river.

  • We always aim to create REALISTIC looking brows here ...  When brows are TOO perfectly marked off and measured, the brows can take on an unrealistic look We want them to be super sexy and exciting. Not RIGID & MECHANICAL SUPERHERO BROWS! You don't want your brows to walk in before you do. What's important, is the fine artistic detail, that will bring your face to life!

  • During your session, I will explain what I'm doing and ask for your feedback along the way. This will ensure that you are happy with both the contour and colors we have blended. The treatment will then begin and will take 1-3 hours, depending on the complexity of the procedure.

Microblading & Microshading has definitely taken the world by storm.

These soft, realistic looking strokes help to create the illusion of beautiful full brows by replacing a few missing strokes or simulating an entire brow! This is an awesome service for people suffering from any kind of brow hair loss. These strokes look so real, they can even fool the clients using a 10x magnifying mirror!

Whether you call it BROW MICROBLADING, MICRO STROKING, 3D BROWS, FEATHERED BROWS, etc... you should know that all of these techniques are still a form of cosmetic tattooing.  We try to duplicate the appearance of very natural looking brows by delicately depositing pigment into the superficial layer of the dermis. We use a hand tool with an extremely fine grouping of needles, much like a calligraphy pen. Our unique technique does not look like the cookie cutter style of perfectly traced lines. Our strokes can fool even the most discriminating eye.

REALITY CHECK

I wish the terms "permanent" and "semi-permanent" didn't exist. Both are misleading.  We call it permanent because it does not wash off. We call it semi-permanent, because it fades. But if someone tells you that it lasts forever or for only 18 months, BOTH CAN BE TRUE - AND BOTH CAN BE MISLEADING.  It all depends on the chemistry of your body and the relationship with your artist!  There is no magic date that your new brows are programmed to disappear.

BE CAREFUL WHO YOU TRUST.

If you will seek out SEASONED PROFESSIONALS who have completed comprehensive training, have years of successful procedures behind them, and who thoroughly understand this complex process - you will GREATLY minimize your risk of unhappiness!  It is also essential to check that the technicians carry the appropriate licenses. In the right hands, it can be a positively life changing experience. In the wrong hands, you might be spending a lot of money and time undoing an unfortunate decision.

Artistry in this field is largely unregulated in many states. And there are so many classes being formed by self proclaimed "masters" - it's mind boggling! ANYONE can pass out a certificate granting newbies virtual confidence.... The truth is, there is no way to learn this craft in 2-3 days. Even if an artist does beautiful work, you better watch for cross-contamination disasters. It's not easy to get in the habit of using aseptic techniques. And CLIENTS ARE EVEN LESS AWARE... My question to everyone is this:  What good are new brows, if you're now battling Hepatitis? It's take an acute awareness that extends far beyond sterile needles and single use disposables & disinfected skin prior to the service. . .   All it takes is one slip up to contaminate the next client.

PAIN CONTROL

Even though we use a numbing agent of 4% Lidocaine, there may be some discomfort associated with the procedure. This discomfort normally rates on a scale from 0-4 out of 10, pain level. Everyone is different, but we do our best to maintain your comfort level through distraction techniques and breaks if you need them. Microblading rarely produces serious complications

And along with any tattooing the skin, may come some associated risks such as the transmission of Blood Borne Pathogenic Organisms, such at Hepatitis and HIV. Allergic reactions to the pigments and or ointments are also a possibility, but are very unlikely.

CONSULTATIONS

It is recommended (but not mandatory) that you schedule a FREE PHONE CONSULTATION or

a PRIVATE CONSULTATION - And get an ALLERGY SKIN TEST if you have sensitive skin.
