PROPER AFTER CARE

For the next couple of weeks, you should be committed to taking GOOD CARE of the treated area. "Good care" means protecting against over exposure to sun, water, sweat, heat & touch.  NOT fussing with it much.

SET REMINDERS ON YOUR PHONE OR WATCH

DAY 1

WIPE, CLEANSE AND SEAL TONIGHT WITH CAVILON.

Today, your artist will apply a GENEROUS LAYER OF OINTMENT.

To minimize scabbing during the healing process, you will need remove any residual blood & lymphatic fluids that may build up.

  1. Repeat the following guidelines every 1-2 hours until bedtime:

  • WIPE the tattooed area using the provided frozen pads (once thawed). Use just enough pressure, BUT DO NOT SCRUB!

  • AIR DRY for 5 minutes before applying healing ointment.

  • APPLY OINTMENT Use a very thin layer. Should only be a light sheen.

  • ICE AREA as needed to reduce swelling. Not to exceed 10 minutes, per hour.

  2. AT BEDTIME: CLEANSE tattooed area using fingertips only.

WASH HANDS prior to cleansing to reduce bacteria on hands. Never use a washcloth!

NO ANTI-AGING or OILY PRODUCTS around tattooed area while healing!

  • CLEANSE FOR 10-15 SECONDS area using ONE of the following products.

    1. Cerave - Green bottle only (blue has salicylic acid, removes color).

    2. Cetaphil Antibacterial Cleansing Bar

    3. Dial Antibacterial Soap

    4. SkincAir Oxygen Cleanser (when available).

  • RINSE WELL, PAT & AIR DRY for 5 minutes before sealing.

  3. SEAL with CAVILON BARRIER FILM

  • Your aftercare contains ONE package of Cavilon Barrier Film. This is to be used ONCE after cleansing, on DAY ONE ONLY!

  • Tear open package and insert a Q-tip into the BOTTOM of the package to completely saturate the Q-Tip with the solution. Apply a THIN LAYER across both brows, areola or treated scar area.

  • AVOID EXPOSURE TO BACTERIA, especially until sealed!

   WARNING:

  • DO NOT USE ENCLOSED SPONGE TO APPLY!

  • DO NOT USE ON EYELINER OR LIPS!

NOTE: SLEEP WITH A TRAVEL PILLOW NIGHTLY.

DAY 2

KEEP AREA CLEAN & MOISTURIZED 24/7

Every Morning & Evening:

  1. CLEANSE, RINSE & PAT DRY (Never use a cloth. Use clean fingertips only).

  2. AIR DRY for 5-10 minutes

  • Apply Healing Ointment.

  • Reapply ONLY if area looks dry or feels tight.

  • Lips: Reapply often

  • Eyes: Need no ointment

NOTE: CONTINUE TO SLEEP WITH A TRAVEL PILLOW NIGHTLY.

DAY 4-5

You may notice some flaking as the dead skin cells begin to slough off. This is normal and to be expected. Many clients lose 20-50% of the initial implanted color.  The once crisp strokes will soften. People with extremely oily skin may show more blurring of detail than those with dryer skin.

DAY 5-7

Most of the color will have faded by now.  Don't be too disappointed! If you think you have NOTHING left, you should look at your BEFORE photo for a true comparisson.  And even it it APPEARS to be totally GONE, the color can actually return, in time. That is not a promise. Whatever happens, just remember that it may take multiple sessions to arrive at YOUR happy place, and adjustments cannot be made until healed in 4-6 weeks. Waiting 8-12 weeks is better, if possible.

  • AFTER TWO WEEKS, YOU MAY RETURN TO YOUR NORMAL ROUTINE.

  • USE SUNSCREEN DAILY ONCE FULLY HEALED. (Nutrogena with Helioplex)

NOTES ON THE HEALING PROCESS:

Swelling and/or bruising may also occur. This is all normal and will subside. It should take about the same amount of time to heal as any other scratch or cut. The amount of color you retain is in direct relation to the care given, your health, your diet, your medications, and personal habits. During this time, you will lose 20-60% (more or less) of all color throughout the entire healing process. This loss may be minimal or it may be so significant that once even brows, suddenly appears to be uneven. This is because the loss of just one hair stroke can drastically alter their shape. Be aware that some people even scratch in their sleep, which will gouge out color.  Please remember that it is NORMAL for it to take multiple sessions for my work to be considered complete. Therefore, if you have plans on going through with this procedure, we will just do it again in a couple of months until your optimal results are acheived. In the meantime, just add makeup to  help make adjustments. When cleansing only use Cetaphil antibacterial cleanser to wash your face. Other cleansers may contain ingredients that can remove or discolor yor new pigment. Never use Neosporin on your tattoo.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND, that the INITIAL procedure is primarily a test to see how YOUR skin responds to the selected colors. Your healed results after session #1 MAY be too light - or just right, but it will rarely be too dark! After 6-8 weeks, the skin will normalize and the color will become more visible. Just know that every person holds color differently, and you may need more applications to meet your expectations. In the meantime, you should at least have a baseline template to help guide you with your daily makeup application.

Immediately following a procedure, some people experience redness and swelling, while others do not. After a few days, the area begins to form a scab. DO NOT PICK, RUB or SCRATCH at the area as the skin begins to exfoliate. These dead skin cells will naturally release and fall off on their own, as soon as the NEW skin cells are fully formed. If the scab is disturbed prior to being fully healed, the skin will appear PINK underneath, indicating that the scab was picked, bumped or accidentally scratched off prematurely.

IF YOU PICK AT THE SCABS, YOU WILL LOSE COLOR & RISK SCARRING!

We truly appreciate your understanding when it comes to rescheduling. Life happens, and plans change - but last-minute cancellations can really throw off our schedule.

Please note: booking fees are non-refundable. They secure your time slot and cover supplies for your procedure.

If you need to postpone an appointment within 5 days of the cancellation deadline, a $100 fee will apply. Each additional missed appointment increases the reschedule fee by another $100.

3rd Reschedule - $300

Yep, life’s a rollercoaster and we’re along for the ride. But if reschedules keep stacking up and our calendar starts looking like a ghost town, we have to charge something to cover lost time.

From here, each additional reschedule increases by $100.

Last-Minute Reschedules

Need to cancel inside the 5-day window? Our system will give you the cold shoulder, but don’t worry - just reach out directly and we’ll sort it out together.

And if you truly can’t make it - feel free to gift or transfer your appointment to a friend. Sharing is caring!

✨ Thanks for being awesome, flexible, and understanding as we work together to keep our schedule balanced.

We couldn’t do this without you!

❌  What to START/STOP  - Prior to a Procedure

  • ALL PROCEDURES:

    • Start taking ARNICA MONTANA before your procedure to help reduce the effects of possible bruising, swelling, bleeding or inflammation which ALL make procedures more difficult to perform and reduce optimal results. Best to start a week or more before any cosmetic procedure but super helpful to continue taking during the healing phase.

  • BROWS and EYELINER:

    • Discontinue use of any growth serums for at least a month prior to session.

  • EYES: REMOVE LASH EXTENSIONS:

    • at least 3-4 days prior to your procedure. This helps to minimize any extra sensitivity during the treatment. Rubbing the delicate skin of the eyelids can cause micro abrasions, which may lead to increased discomfort. Ensure to follow this guideline for a more pleasant experience.

  • EYES: REMOVE CONTACT LENSES:

    • Bring your glasses to the appointment so you can see to drive home. For best results, do not reapply lenses until fully healed.

  • LIPS: COLD SORES or FEVER BLISTERS?

    • Lips may break out if you don't prepare in advance! Ask your doctor for a prescription for an anti-viral medication to help minimize the risk. Take prior to, during and following your lip procedure. Taking 1,000 mg of Lysine per day also helps, but for best results, ask your doctor.

GENERAL INFORMATION

🧪Permanent vs. Semi-Permanent?

Some people call it PERMANENT MAKEUP.  (Sometimes we still do -  Old Habits Die Hard.)

But we PREFER the terms Micropigmentation or Cosmetic Tattooing because:

  • It won’t wash off, but it will fade over time. Results change with skin type, metabolism, skincare, sun exposure, and age.

  • Refresh sessions are necessary over time to maintain color and shape.

  • Body tattoos last longer because they’re deeper and (usually) less exposed to UV light...

  • The LASTING LONGER LASING PART - wouldn’t look good on your face!  I'd much rather your brows fade OFF - than to fade UGLY.

🔁 Thoughts on Maintenance

Your face is your canvas.  Treat it with care!

Plan to return every 1–3 years for refreshers. Color fades, tones shift, and you change too. Think of it like repainting a house... you do it o keep things looking great, not because the first job was bad.
