Permétika Aftercare

CHECK OUT THESE QUICK LINKS TO LEARN MORE ABOUT HOW TO PLAN FOR AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR NEW PROCEDURE!

As always, we are constantly searching for new and interesting ways to improve, so if you have any suggestions at all, please let us know.

Thank you so much for trusting us to help you with your cosmetic tattooing needs! The following information is designed to help guide you through the healing journey. . .  better described as an emotional roller coaster! You’ll love it, hate it, love it again, miss it when it’s gone, but then you'll feel more secure when it's time to add MORE!

WE HAVE A NEW HEALING STEP THAT SEALS THE TREATED AREA AND WE THINK THAT YOU'RE GOING TO LOVE  THE PROTECTION IT OFFERS.  IT'S LIKE A HUG FOR YOUR BROWS! This amazing covering helps to promote faster healing as it protects against contamination and friction. It will give you a feeling of protection and free you up to go about your life (almost) as normal.  Just keep yourself cool and avoid strenuous exercise that would cause stress on the muscles of the face and do not sweat! Read more below!

AFTER YOUR SESSION . . .

Your skin may (or may not) appear to be puffy, red or inflamed, which could cause the area to appear more exaggerated than you’re comfortable with! In approximately 5-14 days, the surface of the skin will “appear” to be fully healed, with a slight grey cast (which will subside in a few weeks once the healing skin becomes normal again). Please relax, and know, that as the inflammation subsided, things will begin to look normal again, only better!   You can return to your regular skin care and makeup routine as soon as the last bit of loose skin or scabbing has fallen off. But be gentle still, as deeper layers are still in the healing process for approximately 8-12 more weeks.

BUT FOR NOW . . . IT'S TIME TO MINIMIZE SCABBING AND PROMOTE FASTER HEALING . . .

When your appointment is over, we will apply a transparent seal over the tattooed area to act as a waterproof, but gas permeable covering.  The body will continue to excrete lymph to the surface in order to form a scab.

The purpose of a scab is to help pull toxins out as it heals.  Since this wound was created in a clean environment, you don't need this scab... So by sealing in the fluid, your wound can heal faster in a controlled, moist environement.  Resulting in LESS SCABBING and LESS PULLING of color!

YOU ARE NOT A CANDIDATE FOR THE SEAL IF:

  • You are allergic to adhesives.

  • The seal interferes with immediate social events.

This seal may be removed at any time, however allowing it to remain in tact for at least 48-72 hours will provide the most optimal amount of protection for your new investment!

IF YOU A CHOOSE NOT TO APPLY THE FILM, YOU MAY FOLLOW THE TRADITIONAL AFTER CARE STEPS.

SEALED  AFTER CARE STEPS

ENJOY AN ALMOST CAREFREE HEALING EXPERIENCE!

The only downside is that it's a little shiny!  If you can deal with that, you'll have a much better healing experience!

😍DAY 1

Once your procedure is finished:

  • We will apply a Protective Seal to protect against contamination, and to help prevent friction while you sleep.

ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS THIS:

  • PROTECT THE AREA FROM HEAT AND SWEAT.

  • APPLY ICE FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES PER HOUR.

  • AVOID STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES!

  • SLEEP WITH A TRAVEL PILLOW to reduce pressure while sleeping.

Brows, scars, or areola procedures may be sealed. (For obvious reason, eyes and lips cannot be sealed!)

😬DAYS 2-5:

Leave this seal in tact for at least 72 hours. This seal is waterproof, so you can shower freely and you can wear makeup immediately after. The seal is gas permeable so oxygen can still reach the area to promote faster healing.

This protective measure totally eliminates the need for daily cleansing and applying the ointment, UNTIL the seal is removed.

😬 AFTER REMOVAL OF SEAL

  1. Cleanse area to remove buildup of fluids and ointment. Use a gentle (NON AntiAging) cleanser such as Permetika’s Cleansing Gel, Dial Antibacterial Soap, Cerave Green Bottle, Cetaphil, Dove.

  2. Rinse with warm water (not cold, not too hot).

  3. Use LINT FREE PADS or clean paper towels to dry area.

  4. Air Dry for 5 minutes.

  5. Apply to protect against bacteria.

  6. Apply Healing Ointment immediately upon drying.

  7. You may sleep with a travel pillow to prevent applying pressure on tattooed areas.

NOTE: Please continue taking Arnica Montana daily as directed on the bottle... for the next week or two to help speed up the healing process.

Those who are unable to take this supplement should continue to eat lots of healthy forrds including green, leafy veggies and lots of pineapple.

Your aftercare kit includes everything you need to properly care for your tattoo areas. We have specifically designed products that we feel will help protect and encourage safe and healthy healing.

AVOID ANTI-AGING PRODUCTS NEAR TREATED AREAS as the very nature of these products is designed to accelerate the exfoliation and new growth of skin cells, which will prematurely fade the pigments.

TRADITIONAL  AFTER CARE STEPS

THIS METHOD REQUIRE MORE HANDS ATTENTION!

If you can deal with that, you can bypass the seal.

😍DAY 1

Once your procedure is finished

  • WIPE LYMPHATIC FLUID HOURLY Using Moist Water Wipes to remove fluids that accumulate on the skin. This step will help to reduce scabbing!  DO NOT SCRUB! The pressure should match the pressure you felt during your procedure.

  • APPLY ICE FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES PER HOUR using a cool gel pack, a bag of frozen peas or corn (covered with a clean paper towel each time).

  • After wiping or icing, let air dry 5 minutes.

  • REAPPLY HEALING OINTMENT.  Only a super sheer layer is required to effectively heal the area. Too much, is detrimental. No thicker than chapstick. If it looks like lipgloss, you've applied too much ointment.

  • AVOID STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES!

  • SLEEP WITH A TRAVEL PILLOW to reduce pressure while sleeping.

 😬DAY ONE - AT BEDTIME

  • Cleanse area to remove buildup of fluids and ointment. Use a gentle (NON AntiAging) cleanser such as Permetika’s Cleansing Gel, Dial Antibacterial Soap, Cerave Green Bottle, Cetaphil, Dove.

  • Rinse with warm water (not cold, not hot).

  • Use LINT FREE PADS or clean paper towels to dry area.

  • Air Dry for 5 minutes.

  • Apply Healing Ointment immediately upon drying.

  • For Brows, eyeliner, Lips or scars on face, sleep with a travel pillow to prevent applying pressure on tattooed areas.

NOTE: Please continue taking Arnica Montana daily as directed on the bottle... for the next week or two to help speed up the healing process.

AVOID ANTI-AGING PRODUCTS NEAR TREATED AREAS as the very nature of these products is designed to excelerate the exfoliation and new growth of skin cells, which will prematurely fade the pigments.

ALWAYS REMEMBER . . .  NOTHING IS EVER CERTAIN IN A BIOLOGICAL SYSTEM.

For this reason, we aim for perfection, but we deliberately try to err on the side of caution to avoid costly mistakes!  Because sometimes that one last stroke could tip your beautifully natural work into something that looks a little overdone. Each client heals differently and no results will ever be exactly the same. YOU may heal better, or worse, than expected. Please remember that YOU & I both opted for the most conservative approach in order to obtain optimal results by the end of your treatment. This choice has pros and cons. This means that if the work is too light or slightly off for any reason, it’s super important to remember to be PATIENT WITH THE PROCESS and have the assurance that the process will be adjusted along the way, as needed. Procedures almost always need a minimum of two sessions. Follow up sessions are billed according to the level of Artist chosen by you. See website for current pricing.

PERSPECTIVE!  Please understand that routine maintenance is a must and cosmetic tattooing should be considered a tool, not an end all.  Our processes do not prevent the need for traditional make up. Our main goal is to help you look BETTER without makeup and to provide you with a new shape that serves as a platform to help you when applying your own makeup.

Permanent Makeup should look natural when wearing no makeup. DO NOT EXPECT SATURDAY NIGHT BROWS to look great with no other makeup on, at the beach. So keep this in mind when deciding the particular look you are going after. This also prevents a harsh overdone look and helps preserve the skin for better, future applications.  Then use your traditional brow makeup for Saturday night!

IT'S IMPORTANT TO KNOW THAT YOUR COLOR CAN FADE OVER TIME.

Here are some COLOR THEORY TIPS to help you understand why the changes can occur.

All BROWN PIGMENTS, are made up from a variety of combinations of RED, YELLOW & BLUE or BLACK.

When properly balanced, these colors can create any variety of brown from light to dark brown. Light browns have more yellow and darker browns have more blue or black. Over time, the body will metabolize these colors out of your system leaving you with a unbalance of color. OCCASIONALLY, the color will fade evenly and just become a lighter version of itself. But that is not always the case - so plan to have a color boost in the future to bring proper balance back.

PROBLEM:   The loss of any ONE of these colors, can create an unnatural color balance.

SOLUTION:  Add back the missing color.

If this keeps happening, there is a chance that your metabolism absorbs more of the missing color, than the other colors, or the color was implanted too deep. The best-case scenario is that all colors fade evenly and just get lighter as they fade off, but there is no way to guarantee this to happen.

So, if you step into the world of PMU, then you just need to expect maintenance to keep things looking good over the years to come.
