PROPER AFTER CARE

For the next couple of weeks, you should be committed to taking GOOD CARE of the treated area. "Good care" means protecting against over exposure to sun, water, sweat, heat & touch.  NOT fussing with it much.

DAY 4-5

You may notice some flaking as the dead skin cells begin to slough off. This is normal and to be expected. Many clients lose 20-50% of the initial implanted color.  The once crisp strokes will soften. People with extremely oily skin may show more blurring of detail than those with dryer skin.

DAY 5-7

Most of the color will have faded by now.  Don't be too disappointed! If you think you have NOTHING left, you should look at your BEFORE photo for a true comparisson.  And even it it APPEARS to be totally GONE, the color can actually return, in time. That is not a promise. Whatever happens, just remember that it may take multiple sessions to arrive at YOUR happy place, and adjustments cannot be made until healed in 4-6 weeks. Waiting 8-12 weeks is better, if possible.

  • AFTER TWO WEEKS, YOU MAY RETURN TO YOUR NORMAL ROUTINE.

  • USE SUNSCREEN DAILY ONCE FULLY HEALED. (Nutrogena with Helioplex)

NOTES ON THE HEALING PROCESS:

Swelling and/or bruising may also occur. This is all normal and will subside. It should take about the same amount of time to heal as any other scratch or cut. The amount of color you retain is in direct relation to the care given, your health, your diet, your medications, and personal habits. During this time, you will lose 20-60% (more or less) of all color throughout the entire healing process. This loss may be minimal or it may be so significant that once even brows, suddenly appears to be uneven. This is because the loss of just one hair stroke can drastically alter their shape. Be aware that some people even scratch in their sleep, which will gouge out color.  Please remember that it is NORMAL for it to take multiple sessions for my work to be considered complete. Therefore, if you have plans on going through with this procedure, we will just do it again in a couple of months until your optimal results are acheived. In the meantime, just add makeup to  help make adjustments. When cleansing only use Cetaphil antibacterial cleanser to wash your face. Other cleansers may contain ingredients that can remove or discolor yor new pigment. Never use Neosporin on your tattoo.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND, that the INITIAL procedure is primarily a test to see how YOUR skin responds to the selected colors. Your healed results after session #1 MAY be too light - or just right, but it will rarely be too dark! After 6-8 weeks, the skin will normalize and the color will become more visible. Just know that every person holds color differently, and you may need more applications to meet your expectations. In the meantime, you should at least have a baseline template to help guide you with your daily makeup application.

Immediately following a procedure, some people experience redness and swelling, while others do not. After a few days, the area begins to form a scab. DO NOT PICK, RUB or SCRATCH at the area as the skin begins to exfoliate. These dead skin cells will naturally release and fall off on their own, as soon as the NEW skin cells are fully formed. If the scab is disturbed prior to being fully healed, the skin will appear PINK underneath, indicating that the scab was picked, bumped or accidentally scratched off prematurely.

IF YOU PICK AT THE SCABS, YOU WILL LOSE COLOR & RISK SCARRING!
