STARTING THE PROCEDURE: First, we will first test the skin to
make sure it has responded appropriately to the numbing
agents. If you need more time, we will wait. As the procedure
begins, I will make a few identifying marks (tiny specks) to
indicate the designs dimensions, then I start layering in the
base colors first. I never use the "outlining" or "template"
techniques. I find they create an unnatural appearance, and I
prefer to use feather strokes instead.

DURING THE PROCEDURE:  Some technicians will not let you
use a mirror during a procedure. I don't know about you, but I
think I would go insane wondering what is happening to my
face.  So, I feel it is important to let you see what is happening..
As long as you know that you will be going through some
awkward stages before completion...  At several points during
the session, I will ask you peek into the mirror to check that we
are on the right track BEFORE we get too much pigment
packed into the skin.  It normally looks "undone at this stage,
because it is! So don't be scared, just enjoy watching your face
come to life. I do understand those who do not want to look.
That's OK too.  Immediately following the session, your face
will be cleansed, then photographs of the work will be taken to
show the final results.

AFTER CARE PROCEDURES:  Immediately following the
procedure(s), a very thin veil of protective ointment will be
applied to serve as a barrier to germs and to prevent the tissue
from drying out. If you have not already purchased a weeks
supply of Aquaphor, I will give you some to get you by until you
do.  You should leave the area(s) undisturbed for
approximately 12 hours. After that you may cleanse lightly to
remove any dried fluids that may have accumulated. Proper
care is discussed in the After Care Instruction Guide.  It is very
important to follow these directions to ensure proper healing
and to prevent secondary bacterial infections.  If you forget to
pick yours up, the same information can be found on the After
Care Page of this website.

HEALING PHASE:  There may be some swelling and bruising
in the immediate area following your procedure. Most swelling
will subside within 24-48 hours and bruising typically
disappears within 3-4 days. During this healing phase, you
may want to refrain from scheduling social events - but you can
return to work and resume all normal activities as long as you
keep the area clean, and protect it from exposure to sun and
water. Again, see the After Care Page for further details.

Outer Healing: The outer lay is considered healed within about
5-7 days.

Inner Healing:  Even though the outer layers appear to be fully
healed, there is still healing occurring beneath those layers.
This explains why we cannot work the area again until after 4-6
weeks. To do so would create tissue damage resulting in
excessive scar tissue.  Excessive scar tissue makes future
results more unpredictable.

. FOLLOW UP SESSIONS: Even if you are satisfied with your
new look, you should schedule a follow up session between
4-8 weeks following the initial procedure. Together, we will
take this opportunity to decide what touch-ups need to be
done, if any.  Photos showing the healed result will be taken at
this time.  If touch-ups are done, additional photos will be
taken after that procedure as well to document that stage.
There will be a $149 supply charge for this session.
COMPLIMENTARY CONSULTATION:  At the beginning of our
meeting, you will be asked to complete some paperwork,
including a Client Medical History Form a Client Consent Form
and if you have no objections, a  photograph will be taken for
your file.

After the preliminary paperwork has been taken care of, we will
move on into the fun stuff.  We'll discuss colors and shapes...
Your image, preferences and personal needs, to see how I
can best serve you.
Consultations last about an hour.  If you are pretty certain (in
advance) that you will want to go ahead and get your procedure
that day, make sure you request that I mark out time on my
books for you.

SCHEDULING FEE:  You are not charged a fee for time and
materials surrounding your consultation, but a scheduling fee
of $50 is required to secure your appointment time.  This fee
will be applied toward the procedure of your choice.  Missed
appointments will be gladly rescheduled twice.  After that, the
scheduling fee will be forfeited and in order to reschedule, an
additional $25 fee will be required to reserve subsequent
appointments.

PAYMENT OF SERVICES:  It is only a suggestion, and not a
requirement that you make your payment after the consultation
and prior to services. By the end of the session, you may be
tired and you will just want to get home.

SAFETY:   Universal Precautions are practiced in order to
minimize potential infectious risks for my clients and myself.
Strict sanitation and sterilization guidelines are followed by
cleansing surfaces with a viricidal/germicidal agents before
and after each procedure. Disposable gloves are worn and
only new, sterile disposable needles, tubing and pen parts are
used for each client. Following each procedure, disposable
parts are inserted into properly labeled containers.

TOPICAL ANESTHETICS:  Thirty minutes prior to the procedure,
a topical anesthetic will be applied. During the numbing
process, just lay back and relax.  Once the procedure is
started, additional topical will be applied as needed to help
control discomfort. Although every person's pain tolerance is
different, almost every client agrees that the procedures are
much more tolerable than originally anticipated.

OTHER MEDICATIONS:  You may ask your doctor if there are
medications that you can take, such as Benedryl, Tylenol,
Zanax or Valium prior to this procedure to help you relax or
control discomfort If you feel you need to.

Also, please refrain from taking alcohol or any medications
that thin the blood such as aspirin. However, do not
discontinue any prescriptions without getting your doctors
approval first.

EXPECTATIONS
Benefits of Permanent

Maintaining REALISTIC expectations . . .
You should understand (in advance) that every effort will be made to create the most
beautiful results possible! Most of my clients have been very happy with my work
because they had realistic expectations and understood the complexities surrounding a
procedure such as this. This is why I want to do what I can to prepare you in advance
also.  So here goes...

The main thing you should know is that this is not an exact science that can be
absolutely predicted or guaranteed. Permanent Makeup ...is an art.
 When that
art is meshed with living human skin you have to understand that certain variables can
affect the end result. A few examples are: The care you take following the procedure...
Your cells ability to encapsulate the particles for highest retention...  The possibility that
your immune system could reject some, or in a worse case scenario, all particles... Even
excessive muscle tension during a procedure could cause poor retention of pigment...
Some things that are just impossible to predict...  Knowing this in advance will help you
make in informed decision prior to your service and help you take it "with a grain of salt"
should you need some finishing touches when it has healed.
I HAVE AN EXTENSIVE PORTFOLIO FOR
YOU TO REVIEW AND A LIST OF CLIENTS
THAT WOULD BE HAPPY TO TALK TO YOU!
OTHER POINTS TO PONDER...
Something to remember about Permanent Makeup...
Permanent Makeup is an art where various colored pigments
are implanted into living human skin. The ultimate goal is to
create NATURAL natural looking enhancements to help you
look younger and more refreshed, to free up valuable time,
and to relieve you from worrying about where you makeup is
at any point in time!

However, you should understand that this is not an exact
science! Since there is no way to predict or guarantee the
exact results, its wise to set your expectation level toward
improvement, not perfection. Because the pursuit of absolute
perfection can be the worst enemy of a job well done! With
that said, plan on scheduling Follow-up Sessions in order to
finish what we start. The best results come in time...
