ACTUAL CLIENTS
Aftercare Procedures
Warning!
Immediately after
the procedure the
area treated will
look much darker
and much more
defined.  You
have to remember
that what you see
is ON TOP of the
skin.

The final results
will be
significantly
lighter and the
overall
appearance
much softer and
more natural
after the healing
occurs.
REMEMBER...
PERMANENT MAKEUP IS A 'PROCESS'  ... NOT A SINGLE
PROCEDURE.  So please expect to schedule your follow-
up sessions.
The reason is this...  Healed results
sometimes vary from person to person. There are many
factors that affect healing, and even though you follow your
aftercare instructions, you still have limited control over the
way your skin heals.

Some factors that may affect healing are:

  • Incorrect aftercare
  • Lifestyle
  • Metabolism
  • General health
  • Age of the skin, elasticity
  • Condition of the skin: excessive
    oiliness/dryness, uneven texture, scar tissue
  • Medications: over the counter and prescribed
  • Medical conditions: temporary and chronic
  • Chemical Exfoliants: alpha hydroxy, glycolic or
phenol acids, Retin-A, Retinol, and fruit peels
    and bleaching creams
  • Mechanical exfoliants: Microdermabrasion
  • Facial surgery, implants and Botox
  • Fat transfers, collagen or Restylane
  • Sun exposure: casual (riding in a car)  as well
    as extended
  • Tanning beds
  • Smoking

Lighter spots after the healing is complete is
sometimes noticeable.  This is normal and  you
should expect to have to schedule at least one
"perfecting session".

At that time SHAPE and COLOR will be adjusted to
your preference.   Adding color is much easier than
removing color! But you must wait at least 4-6 weeks
between applications.

Touching up a tattoo prematurely may result in a
ruined tattoo caused by creating scar tissue.
Baby that Face!  It's as simple as that!

1.
APPLY ICE to reduce swelling and preserve color,  but never
ice longer than 10-15 minutes, and only once per hour.

2.
CLEANSE with a mild antibacterial cleanser. Once in the
morning. Once at night. ...and cleanse again, if area becomes
contaminated!

CAUTION:  When Washing or Showering... do not allow
tattooed area to remain in contact with water for longer than
what is necessary to cleanse and rinse off.  Allowing the areas
to become water logged can have a negative affect the final
result. Make sure the cleanser does not have any exfoliants or
skin lighteners. Once clean, gently pat dry with a clean paper
towel. Be very careful on the tattooed area until it's had time to
dry. Then apply ointment to your tattoo. Do not attempt to pick,
pull, roll or remove dead skin in any way.  Let it heal off naturally
to preserve maximum color.

3.
APPLY OINTMENT Sparingly! Use just enough to form a light
glaze.  This will help prevent bacteria from settling into the
wound and will be thin enough to allow the skin to breath and
heal well.
Use AQUAPHOR. (Aquaphor is available at any
grocery store and is one of the best ointments you can use.)
This will help protect the area from bacteria, as it allows the skin
to breathe and it will also help reduce the any discomfort caused
by tugging against the skin. Keep areas protected with ointment
24/7 for at least a week. Longer if additional healing time is
required.

4. Keep away from all heat, including steam, sun and tanning
beds.

Then wait about a week for beautiful results to emerge!
AND USE SUNSCREEN
FOR LIFE!

CAUTION: Signs
of Infection
Scabs can,
unfortunately, be
the birthplace of
infection. If you can
see puss oozing
out from under the
scab, if it is very
tender and/or hot
to the touch, or if
there is redness
surrounding the
scab, you may be
starting to get an
infection.

Applying hot
compresses (as
hot as you can
stand) will help
draw out puss.

Adding sea salt to
the hot compress
can also help draw
it up more
effectively.

After several
minutes of hot
compresses, apply
an antibacterial
ointment to ease
pain and itching.

USE BACITRACIN
to treat infections.
NEVER USE
NEOSPORIN...
Neosporin may
cause color to heal
improperly.

If the infection
doesn't improve in
a day or two, see
your doctor. At this
point, your health
is more important
than preserving the
look of the tattoo.
